Introduction to electronics

Página 1

Electronics is an area of science that studies the behavior of electrons in semiconductor materials and in ionized gases. Its main objective is the development of electronic devices, such as integrated circuits, transistors, diodes, among others.

To understand electronics, it is necessary to have knowledge about some basic concepts, such as electric potential difference, electric current, electrical resistance, capacitance and inductance.

The electric potential difference is the measure of the electric energy per unit charge at a point in an electric circuit. It is measured in volts (V). Electric current is the flow of electrons in an electrical circuit, measured in amperes (A). Electrical resistance is the measure of opposition that a material offers to the passage of electric current, measured in ohms (Ω).

Capacitance is a measure of a material's ability to store electrical charge, measured in farads (F). Inductance is a measure of a material's ability to store magnetic energy, measured in henrys (H).

In addition to these concepts, it is important to know the most common electronic components, such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors and integrated circuits. Resistors are components that provide a specific electrical resistance in a circuit. Capacitors are components that store electrical energy in an electric field. Diodes are components that allow electric current to flow in only one direction. Transistors are components that allow you to control the electric current in a circuit. Integrated circuits are components that contain several electronic components on a single chip.

With the knowledge of these concepts and components, it is possible to build simple electronic circuits, such as audio amplifiers, power supplies and oscillators. These circuits can be used in many applications, such as electronic devices, communication systems and control systems.

However, it is important to emphasize that electronics is a complex area that requires a lot of practice and study to be mastered. Therefore, it is recommended that beginners start with simple circuits and gradually evolve to more complex circuits.
