Action Center is a key feature of Windows 11 that helps keep users up to date with notifications and quick shortcuts to common settings. This chapter of our e-book will guide you on how to use the Action Center in Windows 11.

First, let's start with the basics. The Action Center is accessed by clicking the notification icon in the taskbar, located in the lower right corner of the screen. When you click this icon, a window appears on the right, showing all your notifications and shortcuts to various settings.

Notifications

At the top of the Action Center, you'll see your notifications. These can include app updates, reminders, security alerts, and more. Each notification has a title and description, and some may include options to take action directly from the notification.

To interact with a notification, simply click on it. Depending on the type of notification, this could open an app, start an update, or perform another action. If you want to dismiss a notification without interacting with it, click the small "x" in the top right corner of the notification.

Settings Shortcuts

At the bottom of the Action Center, you'll find a series of shortcuts to various settings. These may include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, System Settings and more. Each shortcut is represented by an icon and a title.

To use a shortcut, click it. This will open the corresponding setting. For example, if you click the Wi-Fi shortcut, it will open Wi-Fi settings, where you can connect to networks, manage your connections, and change other settings.

Some shortcuts have additional options that can be accessed by right-clicking the shortcut. For example, if you right-click the Bluetooth shortcut, you'll see options for connecting to devices and managing your Bluetooth connections.

Customizing the Action Center

Windows 11 allows you to customize the Action Center to better suit your needs. To do this, go to Settings > System > Notifications and actions.

Here, you can choose which notifications you want to receive and which shortcuts you want to appear in the Action Center. You can also change the order of shortcuts by dragging and dropping them into the list.

In summary, Action Center is a useful tool that helps keep you up to date and provides quick access to common settings. With a little practice, you can use it to improve your efficiency and productivity in Windows 11.
