Oat bread is a delicious and healthy option for breakfast or afternoon snack. Rich in fiber, it helps with digestion and gives you a longer feeling of satiety. In addition, oats are a very nutritious grain, which helps to control cholesterol and blood sugar, and which has many vitamins and minerals. Let's learn how to make a homemade and tasty oatmeal bread?

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup of white wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of honey or brown sugar
  • 1 and 1/4 cup of warm water
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

Preparation Method:

1. In a large bowl, combine the oats, flours, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, mix the honey (or brown sugar) with the warm water until dissolved. Add oil.

2. Pour the liquid mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients and mix well with a wooden spoon. When the dough begins to form, use your hands to knead. If the dough is too dry, add a little more water. If it's too sticky, add a little more flour.

3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. Form the dough into a ball, place it back in the bowl, cover with a clean cloth and let it rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.

4. After the dough has risen, knead it again for a few minutes to remove the air. Form a loaf by placing the dough in a greased loaf pan. Cover again and let rest for another 30 minutes, or until the dough rises a little more.

5. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes, or until it is golden brown and makes a hollow sound when tapped lightly on the underside. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Tips:

For a softer bread, you can substitute whole wheat flour for white flour. If you prefer a sweeter bread, you can add a little more honey or brown sugar. You can also add other ingredients to the bread, such as sunflower seeds, nuts, raisins, etc.

If you don't have a loaf pan, you can form the loaf with your hands and bake it on a greased baking sheet. Baking time can vary depending on the size of the loaf and your oven, so it's important to check the loaf frequently to prevent it from burning.

I hope you enjoy this oatmeal bread recipe. It is a delicious and very healthy bread, perfect for starting the day with energy or for an afternoon snack. Enjoy!
