How to Make Blackberry Bread
A blackberry bread is a delight that can be served for breakfast, afternoon snack or any other time you want. If you've never tried it, this is your chance to learn how to make this delicious and healthy bread. Let's get started!
Ingredients
- 1 cup of fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 sachet of dry yeast
- 3 to 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation
To start, take a large bowl and mix the warm milk, melted butter, granulated sugar and salt. Then add the yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes, until the mixture starts to foam. This means that the yeast is activated and ready to be used.
Next, start adding the all-purpose flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. When the dough begins to come together, transfer it to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
While the dough is rising, you can prepare the blackberries. In a small saucepan, cook the blackberries over medium heat until they start to break down and release their juice. Let it cool.
Once the dough has risen, turn it out onto a floured surface and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the cooked blackberries over the dough, leaving a border of about 1 cm without filling. Carefully roll the dough, starting with the longest side, and press down to seal the edge.
Place the bread in a greased mold, cover it again with a damp cloth and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C.
Bake the bread for about 30-35 minutes, or until it is golden brown and makes a hollow sound when you tap the bottom lightly. Cool in pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Done! Now you have delicious blackberry bread to enjoy. This bread is best eaten the day it is made, but can also be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
We hope you enjoyed this recipe and that you have fun making this delicious blackberry bread. Bon appetit!
