Milk Bread Recipe
Baking homemade bread is a delicious way to start the day or enjoy a snack anytime. This milk bread is soft, tasty and very easy to make. Here's the complete step-by-step recipe so you can make your own homemade milk bread.
Ingredients:
- 500g wheat flour
- 60g of sugar
- 10g of salt
- 10g dry biological yeast
- 300ml of milk
- 60g unsalted butter
- 2 eggs
Preparation:
1. Start by heating the milk until lukewarm. It shouldn't be too hot as this can kill the yeast. Ideally, it should be at a temperature of around 37°C.
2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt. Then make a hole in the middle of this mixture and add the yeast. Pour the warm milk over the yeast and let it sit for about 10 minutes, until the yeast starts to bubble.
3. Add melted butter and eggs to the mixture. Use a wooden spoon or your hands to mix all the ingredients together until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour. If it's too dry, add a little more milk.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. Form a ball with the dough and place it in a greased bowl. Cover the bowl with a tea towel and let the dough rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
5. After the dough has doubled in size, knead it again to remove the air. Divide the dough into equal parts and form each part into a ball. Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between them so they can rise.
6. Cover the baking sheet with a tea towel and let the dough balls rest in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until they double in size.
7. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Brush the surface of the dough balls with a little milk to give the bread a nice shine. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
8. Let the loaves cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. Now you have delicious homemade milk breads to enjoy!
Tips:
This recipe is quite versatile. You can add extra ingredients to the dough, such as raisins, nuts or chocolate, to create different bread flavors. In addition, you can shape the dough into different shapes, such as braids or rolls, to create interesting looking loaves.
Milk buns are best eaten the day they are made, but can also be stored in an airtight container for a few days. If you like, you can freeze the buns after baking and then thaw them when you want to eat them.
I hope you enjoy this milk bread recipe. It's a delicious, versatile bread that's perfect for breakfast, snacks, or any other time of day. Enjoy!
