Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size. This should take about 1 hour. While the dough is rising, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

When the dough has doubled in size, remove it from the bowl and knead it for a few minutes to remove the air. Roll out the dough into a rectangle measuring about 40x50 cm. Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a 1 cm border without butter. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the butter.

Roll the dough along the long side, like you're making a jelly roll. Cut the roll into slices about 2 cm thick. Place the slices in a greased baking dish, cover them with a damp cloth and let them rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake the buns in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool in the pan for 5 minutes before serving.
