Finally, geriatric surgical nurses must be able to work effectively in teams. They must be able to coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, pharmacists, physiotherapists and social workers to ensure that the patient receives the best possible care. They must also be able to act as patient advocates, ensuring that their needs and wishes are respected.
