First of all you need to know what not to do in your newsroom. Writing an essay in a short time, as in exams, is at first sight a great challenge. Now I’m going to give you 5 quick tips on how not to zero in writing exams and not lose points.

1 – Don’t run away from the topic of the essay

Always read all instructions that are given for writing the draft. Only then write on the official editorial sheet. You can make a mistake and strike out on the official sheet, but the theme needs to be what they ask for. So follow the guidelines given and continue reading to see the next tips.

2 – Write in another text type

Most exams and entrance exams request that the writing be in the essay-argumentative style. This text type asks you to write about the subject and give your point of view on the subject. So back to the previous advice: read all the instructions given in the exam.

3 – Illegible handwriting is prohibited

All official essays must be written in pen. There will be no information telling you to write it in cursive or block letters. In this sense, choose the best and most readable one you have, because if the evaluators cannot read it, they will not be able to rate it. In exams, we know that the rule is not to reset the essay’s grade. So use the directions so far and read on.

4 – No copies

Do not copy any part of the proof to write your essay. The more original the better the argument of your text. There are always motivating texts that help to understand and give ideas for what is required in the topic. Therefore, you can give ideas from it, but not copy it.

5 – Prohibited expressions or words in newsrooms

There are words and opinions we should not speak and this applies especially to official newsrooms.

Never write or use:

  • Your political opinion, as politicians are corrupt or we only have thieving politicians;
  • Religious phrases like God bless you and amen;
  • Slang words or profanity. This rule doesn’t apply to the speech of others or literary works like “The art of connecting the f*ck”;
  • Give your opinion of how your performance is in the evaluation you do;
  • Graphic signs, numbers and drawings that have no connection with the subject covered.

Thus, we saw that writing an essay on exams is not easy because it is not only what you will do on the day of the assessment. That’s why I recommend training your writing and improving your knowledge.
