Course Description
Want to feel confident on a volleyball court, even if you’re starting from scratch? This free online course helps you build solid fundamentals so you can join games with better technique, smarter decisions, and more consistency. Instead of guessing what to do in each rally, you’ll learn how volleyball really works and how each touch connects to the next.
You’ll begin with the essentials that often decide whether beginners improve quickly: the key rules, common violations, net height standards, and the equipment that makes practice easier and safer. With those basics in place, the course moves into practical warm-ups you can do alone, with a partner, or in small groups. These routines help you prepare your body and sharpen your ball control before training or matches, reducing errors caused by rushed starts.
From there, you’ll develop the core techniques step by step: serving options (including underhand, overhand, jump and float), the overhead pass, the forearm pass, and clean receiving skills. You’ll also train attacking and spiking with a focus on timing, movement, and accuracy, then build defensive confidence through blocking, positioning, and controlled recovery when the ball comes fast.
Throughout the course, guided exercises and drills let you practice accuracy, power, and consistency in realistic situations. Quick questions after lessons reinforce the key ideas, making it easier to remember details and apply them on court. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the game and a practical set of skills you can keep improving with every session.
