Course Description

Korean Grammar and Speaking for Beginners (Level 1) is a free online language course designed for absolute beginners who want to start speaking Korean with clear, practical grammar from the very first lessons. Build a strong foundation step by step, focusing on the patterns you need to form sentences, ask questions, and express everyday ideas with confidence.

You begin by learning to read and write Hangul, developing accurate decoding skills through guided practice with letters, combined sounds, and common spelling patterns. As you progress, you strengthen pronunciation-friendly reading, expand writing fluency, and get comfortable with essential building blocks that make later grammar much easier.

The course then moves into core beginner communication: numbers for reading and counting, telling time, talking about days and dates, and introducing yourself and others. You learn how to describe states and situations, form present tense sentences in both casual and formal styles, and make your Korean sound natural in common real-life contexts.

Next, you practice creating negative sentences and expressing ability and limitation, including how to say you cannot do something or that you are good at something. You also learn to connect thoughts smoothly, using connectors for then, after, while, as soon as, so, and but, so your speech becomes more fluid and less fragmented.

To broaden what you can express, you study past tense and future forms such as be going to and will, along with everyday particles and location and direction expressions like in, on, at, from, and to. You also cover useful request and suggestion patterns for polite conversation, including asking for help, requesting actions, and making group suggestions.

Finally, you gain practical sentence tools for intention and preference, obligations and permissions, probability, capability, and experience. You learn to express thoughts like I think, because, look or seem, in order to, and reported speech such as heard or said, helping you handle beginner conversations with clarity and politeness. If you want a structured path from Hangul literacy to essential speaking grammar, this course offers a comprehensive start in Korean.
