The blind spot warning system is a technology that has been adopted by many car manufacturers to increase driver safety. It works through sensors installed in the mirrors, which detect the presence of other vehicles in the driver's blind spots.

When a vehicle is detected in a blind spot, the system issues a visual and audible alert to the driver, indicating that there is a vehicle nearby and that he should take care when making a lane change or similar manoeuvre.

The operation of the blind spot warning system is quite simple. Sensors installed in the mirrors emit high-frequency sound waves that propagate in a certain direction. When these waves encounter an object, they are reflected back to the sensor.

The sensors then measure the time it takes for the waves to return and calculate the distance to the object. If the distance is less than a certain pre-programmed value, the system issues an alert to the driver.

In addition, some Blind Spot Alert systems can also be integrated with other safety systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. This allows the vehicle to automatically adapt to the speed of the vehicle ahead and stay within the lane even when there is a vehicle in the blind spot.
