This is the break down of what those numbers mean on your guard. Here's a little recap
0 Guard - 1/16th of an inch
1 Guard - 1/8th of an inch
1 1/2 Guard - 3/16th of an inch
2 Guard - 2/8th of an inch
3 Guard - 3/8 of an inch
and so on...
Clipper closed is bald or a zero. Clipper open is 1/16th of an inch or a "half"

What's going on everyone this is the first haircut video that we are going into! I go over important techniques in this video so make sure to watch closely and refer back to this video whenever you need.
I am teaching you how to do a bald fade with the Wahl Deluxe kit (refer back to the other videos in my course). The reason I am starting with a bald fade is because if you can do a bald fade you can do any other type of haircut! You are using the same exact system of fading with any other haircut.
I am also going over how to use the flatop comb (Clipper over comb technique) and a basic shear trim on top.
Make sure to take your time and PRACTICE! I can not stress that enough. This is a skill just like any other and will require practice to get it right. Enjoy guys, you got this!

High taper fade technique. Make sure before starting to always prep the hair by brushing it with the natural flow of the hair. This will make it a lot easier when you start your haircut.
Tapers are technically a very small fade along the sideburns and the back of the neck.
I chose to teach you a high taper first simply because it's the most simple one to do. I also feel like it is the most trending taper out of all the others currently. Hope you enjoy the video now get out there and PRACTICE!
